I would like to see a link between the Punchline and this mesaage board site. It would be an opportunity for all all AKS members to write and comment on our newsletter. There is alot of info in the newsletter but instructors and students can not easily respond directly to articles and photos.
Anyone have a comment?

Hi Dave, Wow, it's been awhile since I've visted this site. There's a lot of information that I can use on the website as well as on the Punchline. As far as a link from the Punchline to this site is concerned, I can do that very easily. My only concern is that people of "the world" can view our website and Punchline. They will be able to follow the link and read/reply to(if they sign up) the issues here. Do you think that would open the opportunity for "trash talk?" One question, are you limiting "membership" to this forum to only AKS members? If so, then we don't have a problem. I've seen other forums where talk gets raunchy and degrading and the MODS are very busy "editing" and blocking unwanted guests. I've also noticed the pics of your visitor from Germany and I would like to add that to the next Punchline. Ray has sent me that article and I can copy the pic from this site and put it in the punchline. Sounds like the club is doing very well. My job keeps me very busy, and with the Punchline and Website, I am able to keep up on the AKS activities. Let me know if this link is "A GO." I will add it as soon as possible. Also, can I get a bio from you? I received one from Mr. Debelak and would like to include you as well. I know Mr. Lieb has probably bugged you already about this. Whenever you get time if fine with me. Thanks, Dave Laura

Hi Laura,
I do think the link is a good idea, we currently have links on the Punchline to other websites,; this one is ours. I think it is an opportunity for other AKS Instructors and students to ask questions or share ideas. The Punchline is limited to a few contributors.
As far as trash talk, that is always risk but David has agreed to edit out any junk stuff that shows up.
Last year at the Executive Board Meeting a site such as this was requested. David has done a good job putting iot together, I would like to see it get more use.
Let me know what you think, best regards.
Dave

In regards to adding a link the to AKS website, this is an idea I have been in favor of since the creation of this message board. The link would serve as a line for members of the AKS to access this board if they were unaware of it before.
As for the concern about trash talk or people posting undesireable content, that is a hazard that we all have to deal with as members of this global community the internet. In turn that is why I am still encouraging members of this site to become moderators. I am only asking for maybe two or three mods on a board, I would like at least one mod from each state where we have an AKS club.
At this time I am asking only black belts to sign up for mod positions. But that is only for mod positions I still am hopefull that all AKS members will become regular members of this message board and post freely, regardles of rank, age, or any other such things.
As for limiting memship strictly to AKS members at this point I personally do not see the need for such action to be taken. Anyone interested in the martial arts should be allowed to become a member, if however things get out of hand any actions can be discussed by the moderators of the board.

Hi guys! Sorry it took so long to get back here. I will put a link to this site on the "home" page of our website as well as mentioning it in our next PunchlineThis is really a great site and hopefully it will bring the AKS together (virtually ;D) speaking. Have a great day! Laura

Thanks again Laura
