I want to congratulate Randi and Karlie Zattlin on their impressive tournament wins this year. Randi is a Green Belt and Karlie recently earned her Yellow Belt.
Randi's first tournament was in May in Whitehall where she placed in fighting and forms. At a Grand Rapids tournament she won first place in forms and fighting. Right now she is working on her weapons forms so she can be a triple threat in her divisions.
Karlie has been to two tournaments and placed in kata in both of them. She won first place in her most recent outing.
To Randi and Karlie congratulations on your wins, it is evident your hard-work and commitment had it's rewards.

Great job, ladies. Keep up the good work. What are your ages? I have two daughters one is 14 and the other is 12. I am trying to convince them to give Karate a try.

I know the girls are 13. (I don't know if they are members of the message board.) I keep saying I want to be Randi when I grow up, she is an amazing kid. Both girls put everything they have into Karate, and love the sport. I hope your girls give Karate a try. Shelly

Cool, I will share this with them. I wish they would too, but you know how that goes.

Thanks for the compliments Mr. Johnson and Ms. Morningstar. Karate would be good for your kids, sir, but don't force it on them or they won't like it. I know karate helped me a lot. I'm more outgoing now and I have more confidence in myself. I'm 14 and I plan on staying in karate for forever if I can. Good luck with your kids Mr. Johnson.

I would first and foremost like to thank Mr. Thomas for the compliment he has given me and my sister in what he has written. I must give the credit for any of my successes where it is due: to Mr. Thomas and the other excellent blackbelts at the Muskegon school who are such great instructors and such great people.
Also thanks to Mr. Johnson and Miss Morningstar for their compliments.
Mr. Johnson, I, like my sister and your oldest daughter, am 14. You can tell your girls that I strongly encourage them to join karate. It will do so much for them. It will give them more confidence, help them in all they do in life, and it will help them be safer. Not to mention that karate is very fun. I am sure they would love it, as I have since the day I joined. I also agree with my sister in that you can't force them to join, because if you do they will enjoy it less. Good luck.
One last thanks to everyone!
Karlye
