Ingrid, Since we only run two classes a week we have everyone in our class training at the same time. Depending on the mix of the class at any one time, we train the whole class together as well as splitting them up according to rank, age, or whatever the lesson calls for. Other times we ask what it is that people want to work on and we cover the most popular suggestions. Dave

Hello Ingrid I also train at the same club as David and another thing we have done, again depending on the make up of the class for a particular night is we will have some of the mid level ranks work with the beginners, or work on their own while the instructors check on them occasionally. This helps them acquire the teaching hours they might need for rank as well as help them learn techniques themselves, since they have to know it to be able to teach and explain it to others. Granted, this can only be done if you have enough mid level or high ranking grade ranks to be used for teaching, which I don't know if you do or not; but it is an option. Also, sometimes, someone gets pulled to teach, when they might rather do something else. This happens with the instructors as well, it's just part of the package. When this is the case, we try to rotate people so one person doesn't get stuck there the entire class.
