I'd like to take a poll of those members who read the bulletin board regarding what expectations you have for July's summer camp? What do you hope to learn? Are there any people you would like to have show you a specific technique or move?
Please post your comments to this question so I can begin to get a feel for what you are looking for.
Thanks,
Mike Sullenger

I am for one am pushing myself very hard to make 3rd Brown by the time summer camp arrives. I am very interested in weapons in the martial arts. I am especially fond of Escrima sticks as I find them the most practical, along with the Bo. Other than that I am a lump of clay ready to be molded. (man that's corny) But, seriously. Just eager to learn and add to my knowledge of the sport.

This year I would like to see seminars being taught by some of our out-of-town clubs. We have people coming up from Oklahoma who know a couple of alternate forms empty hand and weapons. Perhaps some of the guys from West Virginia could teach some sparring techniques. I have had some students ask why they should go to summer camp and spend the money to learn the same thing they did last year. And I would like to see some classes set aside for lower ranks as well. Hope this helps. Dave

David makes a good point, we convene a large group of talented martial artists from around the country; let' s consider giving them the opportunity to share with the rest of us. I am sure it would also make Summer Camp more personal for them.

Hi All,
I'm pleased to see more of you using the BBoard. You comments about summer camp are encouraging. We will be asking for some of our out of town BBelts to conduct seminars as has been requested. The training in weapons you will receive from Kyoshi Marquez will amaze you. Bring your Bo, chucks, tonfa, kama, any weapon you would like to ask him questions about. His knowledge and background from having lived and studied in Japan and Okinawa is incredible. In addition to some outstanding training we will all be able to get to know folks from other states and schools.
Best Wishes to all,
Mike Sullenger
